CENTURY's AI platform, used in 1,000+ UK schools, delivered 30% topic-knowledge gains (UCL study, 11,000 pupils) and saved teachers up to 6 hours/week. Primary pupils with intensive use were 3× more likely to reach higher KS2 SATs standards in maths, reading and grammar.
CENTURY Tech is a London-based AI learning platform used in more than 1,000 UK schools and colleges. Its engine — built on neuroscience, cognitive science and machine learning — delivers personalised learning pathways ("nuggets") across maths, science, English and other subjects, adjusting difficulty in real time.
To personalise learning for pupils and reduce teacher workload, with dashboards surfacing per-pupil gaps and common misconceptions to replace manual marking and gap-analysis tasks.
CENTURY is deployed across UK schools and colleges and has partnered with UCL researchers to analyse platform data; the Discovery Multi-Academy Trust examined Year 6 usage in 2023/24 against KS2 SATs results; Nesta's CareerTech Challenge separately evaluated adult-learner use; CENTURY has been included in the DfE's Edtech Demonstrator programme and EdTech procurement framework.
UCL researchers analysed data from 11,000 pupils and found an average 30% improvement in topic-knowledge scores following CENTURY use. The Discovery Multi-Academy Trust analysis found high-frequency CENTURY users were three times more likely to achieve the higher standard in maths, reading and grammar/punctuation/spelling in 2023/24 KS2 SATs. Teachers report saving up to six hours per week on marking and lesson planning. Nesta's CareerTech Challenge evaluation found eligible adult learners using CENTURY completed more coursework and improved English/maths skills at a higher rate than non-users.
The headline learning gains (30%, 3x SATs likelihood) come from CENTURY's own evaluation reports and UCL partnership rather than independently published peer-reviewed journals, and effect sizes are partly measured against CENTURY's own platform assessments rather than external standardised tests. The consistency of positive signals across multiple school-level analyses and sustained DfE and Nesta engagement are notable, but this remains vendor-reported evidence rather than independent controlled research.
