Context
In Sofia, Bulgaria, about 18% of the 15-18 age group are reported to fail to find suitable work due to various barriers and public prejudice, leading to social isolation and low social status. The school environment does not currently emphasise the socially meaningful coping skills young people need to move successfully into the labour market.
Objectives
To build a network of experts and practitioners identifying the skills young people need for a changing labour market, and to create opportunities for young people from different countries to engage in informal training and intercultural dialogue supporting their inclusion in the labour market and development of social skills.
Activities
Youth exchanges focused on the latest labour-market trends and skills, including teamwork (via gameplay-based methods), analytical thinking (via informal learning about human-resources management, relationship management and intercultural dialogue), CV/cover-letter writing and completing the European Language Passport, recruitment methods and job-interview technique, digital skills and presentation skills.
