Context
The Digital Age Project, led by Linking Generations Northern Ireland (part of the Beth Johnson Foundation) with Ignite IT, Zenith IT Solutions, Learning & Work Institute, NIFHA and Go ON NI, and funded by the Big Lottery Fund, provides a learner/support-volunteer website and sheltered-accommodation outreach to help older people in Northern Ireland get online.
Conclusions
Participants reported being able to keep in touch with family via email and Skype, shop for better deals online and pursue hobbies, though these are self-reported qualitative benefits rather than measured outcomes.
