Andalusia's Agencia Digital de Andalucía (ADA) launched JuntaGPT in June 2025 as an internal generative-AI assistant for the Junta de Andalucía's civil service. The tool runs Google's open-weight Gemma 3 model (27 billion parameters) on the Hércules supercomputer at the CICA centre in Sevilla, and is designed to respond in under 300 milliseconds while covering more than 400 administrative procedures, from drafting correspondence to processing case files.
At launch, the regional government said access would extend to up to 240,000 Andalusian public employees, and projected that some case files which previously took two years to resolve could be completed in as little as fifteen days, with savings on the processing of over one million documents a year.
These efficiency figures are the government's own launch-day projections rather than results of an independent, audited evaluation; no post-implementation usage logs or before/after processing-time data have been published. JuntaGPT is also strictly an internal tool — it does not replace human-staffed citizen service channels.
