Context

K-Hub is an urban innovation programme launched March 2022 by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) with UNDP Nepal, Impact Hub Kathmandu implementing, running a four-month ideation-to-incubation cycle for youth-led ventures across environment, education, tourism/heritage and public-health themes.

Results

Fifteen business ideas were selected into the first cohort; at graduation demo day, ten enterprises were awarded a combined NPR 5 million (about USD 38,000) in municipal seed funding.

Conclusions

As a first-cohort pilot, public reporting covers selection and initial funding rather than longer-term survival, revenue or employment effects, and no independent evaluation was found.
