KTH Innovation — Stockholm's University-Embedded Startup Support Office

KTH Innovation is the central innovation-support office of KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, operating since 2007 to help researchers and students turn university research into companies.
The office meets more than 400 new-idea teams a year, about 30% of them deep-tech, and admits roughly 10% into its intensive 6-12 month KTH Innovation Launch programme. Since 2007 it has helped start more than 450 companies, which together have raised over SEK 8 billion. Around 40% of the teams it supports include at least one female founder, and more than 85% describe their work as contributing to sustainable development. In 2024, according to the Swedish trade publication NyTeknik's ranking, 25% of Sweden's most innovative and promising tech companies originated from KTH.
KTH Innovation was ranked 21st among 150 organisations in a Financial Times ranking of Europe's leading start-up hubs — and 2nd in Europe among hubs with a strong sustainability focus — according to independent coverage of the ranking by Science|Business.
