Context

In March 2025, Morocco's Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ministry of Youth Culture and Communication, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the International Center for Artificial Intelligence of Morocco (AI Movement, hosted at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University) signed a partnership to bring digital and AI literacy to children nationwide under the Maroc Digital 2030 strategy.

Results

The programme first trained trainers: 65 staff from youth centres completed a train-the-trainer session at UM6P from 16-20 June 2025. The national rollout launched on 20-21 October 2025 at a ceremony in Tangier, running concurrently across Morocco's twelve administrative regions with workshops for children aged 8-14, with plans to extend to ages 15-18.

Conclusions

Several outlets reported the programme's target as reaching 200,000 children nationally, but as of the October 2025 launch, no independent evaluation or completion data has been published; the programme's actual reach and the depth of curriculum delivered by newly trained youth-centre staff remain to be verified.
