Georgia's my.gov.ge portal grew from 468 to 700 electronic services between 2019 and 2020, with usage up 40% and around 30,000 daily visits — while government and independent monitoring show rural internet access as low as 15%, exposing a real digital divide.
Live since 2012, my.gov.ge is Georgia's unified portal for electronic public services, run by the Data Exchange Agency (DEA) under the Ministry of Justice. It brings together services from ID and passport applications to company registration and land-title transactions in a single online window, and has become one of Georgia's most-visited government websites.
The number of listed e-services rose from 468 in 2019 to 700 in 2020, portal usage grew 40% over that year, and daily visits reached about 30,000. Quarterly service use climbed from roughly 94,000 in the first quarter of 2020 to 122,000 in the fourth quarter, a 30% rise as pandemic-era demand accelerated citizens' shift online.
Independent monitoring by Freedom House found that this growth has not reached the country evenly: national internet penetration averages 40–70% but falls to as low as 15% in some rural regions, high prices and weak infrastructure remain barriers, and no clear government strategy to close the gap had been published as of the most recent reporting reviewed.
