NL32Netwerk MediaWise (Netwerk Mediawijsheid) is a Dutch national coalition of more than 1,000 organisations — including libraries, cultural institutions, media coaches, teaching-materials developers, educational publishers, research institutes, ICT companies, media producers/platforms, educational institutions, and health and welfare organisations — working since 2008 towards a Netherlands where everyone is or is becoming media-wise.
The network's mission is 'Everyone media wise', targeting three groups — young people, adults and vulnerable people — so they can navigate media opportunities and risks (such as addiction, internet crime, fake news, privacy violations, radicalisation and online norm-blurring) and help close the digital divide.
Three strands of activity: (1) raising awareness through annual awareness and activation campaigns, signposting and basic-knowledge tools/websites; (2) anchoring media wisdom in the practice and policy of educators, care and welfare professionals; (3) an amplification and activation network in which partners run joint activities and share knowledge, expertise and resources, coordinated by the Network Media Wisdom Program Team.
