Context
one-north, launched by JTC Corporation in December 2001 from Singapore's 1991 National Technology Plan, is a 200-hectare, walkable, high-density district co-locating life-sciences (Biopolis), info-comm/media (Fusionopolis, Mediapolis), engineering and learning institutions.
Results
By the mid-2020s the district hosted 400+ companies, 800+ startups and ~50,000 knowledge workers, with over S$8bn in total investment attracted. Stage One opened in late 2024 and Kampong AI, a dedicated AI experimentation zone, was announced in Singapore's Budget 2026.
