There are a growing number of employment opportunities requiring digital skills, but a large proportion of the population does not have them. While there are growing numbers of formal courses, many people cannot access them due to constraints such as existing work commitments or lack of funds.

To contribute to the development of e-facilitators' competences to deliver high-quality, relevant digital-skills training to adults, and to promote open source technologies and open education in non-formal adult education - including promoting access to open educational resources (OER), promoting open source (OS) technologies to support the upskilling of adult educators and learners, reinforcing digital skills among adult trainers in the non-formal sector, and supporting European digital-competence centres in becoming innovative training hubs.

The partnership (ALL DIGITAL as Belgian coordinator, with Ynternet.org in Switzerland, Colectic in Spain, Centro Studi Citta di Foligno (CSF) in Italy, and Maks vzw in Belgium) developed a curriculum training scheme on open source technologies for e-facilitators, mapped on the DigCompEdu Framework; created an online toolkit for e-facilitators in five languages (EN, NL, FR, IT, ES) by adapting existing open educational resources; and developed a modular blended course of 60 hours in open source technologies, piloted with 40 e-facilitators from four countries.

Open-AE developed and tested its outputs - the curriculum and online toolkit, and the 60-hour modular blended course - in four project countries (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and Spain), piloting the course with e-facilitators (adult trainers) from those four countries to improve their knowledge of open digital learning technology and tools.
