Orange Digital Center DR Congo

Orange Digital Center DR Congo opened in Kinshasa on 4 March 2023, the 15th centre in Orange's Africa-Middle East network, spanning roughly 590 square metres opposite the Stade des Martyrs.

It bundles a free Académie Digitale coding school, a FabLab Solidaire fabrication workshop, an Orange Fab start-up accelerator, and Orange Ventures Middle East & Africa investment support, with local emphasis on e-agriculture, e-health, e-commerce and climate-related digital projects, delivered in partnership with Kinshasa Digital Academy.

At launch, Congolese outlets reported over 1,700 learners already trained through the centre. Orange RDC has signed agreements with universities to open Digital Center Clubs in Kananga, Lubumbashi and Matadi.

This is a distinct, urban-employability-focused practice from the refugee-camp-based Instant Network Schools programme already documented for DRC (Lusenda, South Kivu); no independent post-launch evaluation of the Kinshasa centre's outcomes has been published to date.
