Context

Kazakhstan's Orleu teacher-training agency, with UNESCO IITE and UNESCO-ICHEI, developed a bilingual (Kazakh/Russian) generative-AI micro-certification course for teachers covering prompt engineering, classroom applications and academic-integrity/privacy protection, rolled out free and nationwide from the end of August 2025.

Results

By 20 November 2025, 324,000 teachers had registered and 252,000 (about 78%) had completed the course and received Ministry-accredited certification, with highest uptake in Shymkent, Turkistan and Zhambyl regions; no independent study yet measures whether the training changed classroom practice or student outcomes.
