Ecuador's customs authority (SENAE) deployed a Palantir AI/data-analytics platform in May 2025 to risk-profile import/export declarations. In its first 100 days, SENAE reports $9.5M in contraband seizures, $1.17M in prevented fiscal loss, and over 90% of declarations screened.

Context
In May 2025, Ecuador's SENAE deployed a Palantir Technologies AI/data-analytics platform to risk-profile import/export declarations for smuggling, tariff fraud and biodiversity trafficking, integrating customs, tax (SRI) and law-enforcement data.
Results
SENAE's own 100-day report (Sept 2025) states the platform helped seize USD9.5M in contraband, prevent an estimated USD1,173,327 in fiscal loss, identify ~USD1M in omitted tariffs, and that over 90% of declarations are now algorithmically risk-profiled.
Conclusions
In 2026 the government opened a ~USD17.2M three-year procurement to renew and extend the contract.
