Context

Skill IT addressed low digital literacy and competency among disadvantaged adults at risk of exclusion, and stagnating participation in adult learning across EU countries, by strengthening partnerships between local and regional organisations working with adult learners in several partner countries.

Objectives

To develop, design and implement inclusiveness strategies for enhancing basic skills; to address low digital literacy among disadvantaged adults; to strengthen partnerships between local/regional organisations; to increase digital competence among hard-to-reach groups; and to improve access to learning opportunities in line with Europe 2020, ET 2020 and Erasmus+ goals.

Activities

Adult learners and staff from partner countries cooperated to design and test an innovative ICT Education Model within 7 partner countries/regions: Northern Ireland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, Spain and Croatia, coordinated by Ballybeen Women's Centre with partners AKLUB, Prometeo, Callidus, IFES, Kas HEM and Morfogennesis. Target groups included adults with low or no qualifications, people in low-skilled occupations, the unemployed, migrants, the economically inactive and older people.
