Context

Slovenia's Law on the Implementation of the EU Regulation on Harmonised Rules on Artificial Intelligence (ZIUDHPUI) requires every public-sector body using an AI system to report it to the state via the SPOT e-government portal.

Activities

Reports must include the organisation's name, the system's name and purpose, its algorithmic operating principles, a data-protection impact assessment, and (for high-risk systems) a fundamental-rights impact assessment. The Ministry for Digital Transformation publishes results as an open dataset under CC BY 4.0, last updated May 2026. Independently, civil-society group Danes je nov dan launched its own Public Sector AI Registry in November 2024, compiling cases from public sources and information requests.

Results

Two independent, cross-checking disclosure channels now exist — the statutory registry and Danes je nov dan's civil-society registry.

Conclusions

Neither registry currently publishes a count of listed systems or compliance rate, and Danes je nov dan describes its own registry as still in early stages covering only the most significant known cases — the practice's real coverage has not yet been measured.
