Description

On 18 November 2025, Africa Missions Global (AMG) launched 'The Gambia Digital Leap: Empowering Learning and Careers through AI' at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo, The Gambia. The launch was attended by Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow and Defence Minister Baboucarr Ismaila Joof, with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education as a partner.
The programme deployed an AI Education App with free course access for up to 1,000 Gambian students nationwide, and ran an AI-Assisted Book Writing Competition in which 50 schools took part, with 5 winning schools receiving prizes. AMG covered participants' course costs and bundled the rollout with ICT-equipment and learning-materials distribution, plus adolescent health and livelihoods support, as part of AMG's stated global goal of reaching '100 million lives' by 2033.
Evidence and caveats: coverage of the launch confirms scale (1,000 eligible students, 50 competing schools), government partnership and funding structure, but as a launch-stage report it contains no independent measurement of course completion, learning gains, or app usage — the evidence here is reach and institutional backing, not measured educational impact.
