Context

Launched against the backdrop of Slovakia being, per the Eurostat Gender-Equality Index, the only EU country where gender equality had deteriorated over the preceding decade (2008–2018), the project targets primary and secondary school students (14–19) in the Žilina region.

Objectives

It seeks to create space for strengthening gender equality in Slovak society, with a focus on young people's attitudes.

Activities combine non-formal education delivered with Radio Roma, materials and handbooks produced with the Romata news agency for the Roma target group, and public-facing outreach through the '16 Days of Activism' campaign and the 'Women's Rights are Human Rights' exhibition, run online and in person.
