Contexto

In Spain, the Government identified a persistent lack of visibility for women within the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem. In response, the Government of Spain, with the Fundación Ronsel as partner, produced a guide profiling influential women entrepreneurs in the country.

Objetivos

The guide aims to make the figure of the female entrepreneur more visible, recognise the professional standing these women have earned, and encourage a sector that draws on the full range of available talent regardless of gender. It also urges public administrations to promote equal presence of women at conferences, congresses, forums, debates, round tables, seminars, workshops, fairs and awards ceremonies.

Actividades

The core activity is the production of a guide compiling profiles and stories of the most relevant women entrepreneurs in Spain. The guide is intended as a living document, to be republished annually with an expanding number of referents and new voices.

Conclusiones

The source argues that government promotion of this kind of visibility initiative is valuable because it can reach more people and more administrations, thereby improving the political, social, and economic power of women.
