Observatorio Mujeres, Ciencia e Innovación // Women, Science and Innovation Observatory

Under Royal Decree 938/2020 of 27 October, this work programme implements the objectives and functions assigned to Spain's Women, Science and Innovation Observatory (OMCI), covering 2020–2021 with priority lines of action extended into 2021–2022.

(1) Consolidate a sex-disaggregated data-collection, monitoring and dissemination system with gender statistics and indicators for research, development and innovation (R+D+I); (2) strengthen the career stability and professional development of women researchers, technologists and innovators, including closing the gender pay gap and increasing women in positions of responsibility; (3) strengthen cooperation among ministerial departments and other science/technology/innovation agents to give greater visibility to women in R+D+I; (4) promote structural changes in the organisational culture of R+D+I centres to remove obstacles and gender bias; (5) integrate the gender dimension as both a specific research topic and a transversal element across R+D+I projects and content.
