This Royal Legislative Decree that approves the revised text of the Workers' Statute Law takes into account the different types of discrimination suffered by women in the workplace and attempts to regulate them.
For example, Article 24. related to Promotions.
1. Promotions within the professional classification system will take place in accordance with what is established in the agreement or, failing that, in a collective agreement between the company and the workers' representatives. In any case, promotions will take place taking into account the training, merits, seniority of the worker, as well as the organizational powers of the employer.
2. Promotions and professional promotion in the company will be adjusted to criteria and systems whose objective is to guarantee the absence of discrimination, both direct and indirect, between women and men, being able to establish positive action measures aimed at eliminating or compensating situations of discrimination.
In fact, it regulates different issues related to gender discrimination: pay, promotion, opportunities, work-life balance...
Why it's a good practice: This is mostly related to economic power because it regulates the women situation in work.
