What works in Armenia

Armenia has invested roughly $24 million in Armath Engineering Laboratories, a network of 600+ free after-school STEM labs reaching approximately 17,200 students aged 10–18 across seven countries, with about 45% of graduates proceeding to Armenian universities and 11% already employed in IT by 2022. On gender representation, Armenia's 30% Gender Quota for parliamentary candidate lists increased women's National Assembly seats from 24% to 38.3% (41 of 107) after the 2021 election, surpassing the global average of 27.1%. Since 2015, Armenia's National Action Plan to Prevent Gender-Biased Sex Selection reduced the sex ratio at birth from 115 boys per 100 girls in 2012 to 109.9 by 2024, though gains remain fragile and require sustained investment. Armenia's State Revenue Committee has deployed machine learning since 2024 to estimate a corporate income tax gap of 26–35% and improve compliance by a projected 15–20%, though actual results have not yet been measured.
