What works in Côte d'Ivoire

Côte d'Ivoire has made significant advances in digital skills training and gender equality reform. The Orange Digital Center Côte d'Ivoire trained over 3,500 people and supported 92 startups at its Abidjan hub since opening in October 2021, with expansion to over 14,500 people supported across three countries by 2025. The 2019 Family Code Reform achieved the largest improvement in gender non-discrimination in sub-Saharan Africa, with the OECD SIGI score falling from 42.8 to 17.3 between 2019 and 2023. Additionally, the country is implementing environmental and AI education initiatives, including the Taï National Park Area Emission Reductions Programme which delivered 7 million tonnes of verified CO₂ equivalent reductions, and participating in the ITU, Google and will.i.am AI and Robotics Youth Training Programme targeting youth education.
