What works in Zambia

Zambia has implemented multiple programmes targeting women's empowerment and education: GEWEL reached 139,351 women with livelihood support across 81 districts and supported 148,616 girls in secondary school by end-2024, while Rural ICT Hubs trained over 700 rural women and girls in digital literacy and online safety since April 2024. In health and environment, AVE achieved 85% sensitivity and 86% specificity for detecting cervical precancer in 8,204 women across eight public clinics, while Luangwa Community Forests Project protects 2.1 million hectares of miombo woodland for 230,000 people, avoiding ~2.79 million tCO2e annually.
