Founderz and Microsoft's free, 100%-online AI literacy track rolled out to women in Ukraine as part of an EMEA-wide programme that trained 57,000+ women across 30 countries in 2025, aiming to close a gender gap where women are only 22% of AI professionals.
In March 2025, Spanish edtech Founderz and Microsoft launched 'AI Skills 4 Women' in Ukraine as part of a wider rollout across the Baltics, the Adriatic region and the Middle East, offering women with no prior technical background a free, expert-led introduction to AI. The programme responds to a labour market where women make up just 22% of AI professionals, 12% of AI researchers and 16% of AI faculty.
The programme aims to close the AI gender gap by giving women, regardless of technical background, free access to AI literacy training.
The Ukraine edition was announced by Microsoft's Baltics-and-Ukraine country manager alongside Founderz co-CEO Anna Cejudo. The 2026 edition expanded to 13+ languages and remains free and fully online.
Across the wider EMEA rollout, Founderz reports that in 2025 more than 57,000 women in over 30 countries completed the training and built more than 600 real AI projects, with 150 top performers awarded scholarships to a follow-on AI and Innovation Certificate programme; the World Economic Forum's Schwab Foundation featured the initiative as a Davos case study.
The publicly available reporting gives EMEA-wide completion and project figures but no Ukraine-specific breakdown of enrolment, completion or post-course outcomes, and none of the available sources describe a formal data-protection or algorithmic-transparency framework for the training platform itself.
