The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps young people aged 16 to 30 find jobs, education and training. Placement in full-time roles depends on individual performance and agreement with the hiring company.
To educate young adults not in employment, education or training (NEET), military veterans, members of the military reserve, those leaving the Armed Forces, and service spouses in software development and cloud-computing technologies, and to support their transition into digital careers via work placements.
AWS re:Start training and work placements for the Armed Forces are delivered through the Ministry of Defence and the Career Transition Partnership (CTP); for NEET young adults, through The Prince's Trust 'Get into Technology' programme. The curriculum accommodates all experience levels, including people with no prior technical knowledge. Technical training classes are delivered by QA Consulting with support from AWS-certified instructors; courses run every six to eight weeks in Manchester and London and are free of charge. After training, participants gain practical experience through on-the-job training/job placement. Experis delivered four employability workshops for military participants covering 'Opportunities in Technology', 'CV Writing for the IT jobs market', 'Searching for a role in IT'/'Effective interviewing', with pre- and post-course mentoring support provided by Sage. Graduates are connected with AWS customers and partners - a growing community of over 100 organisations including Rackspace, Deloitte, KPMG, NHS, Doddle, Centrica Hive, Splunk, SecureCloud+, 6Point6 and BJSS - to pursue job placements and digital careers.
