Astana Hub — International Technopark of IT Start-ups

Astana Hub was established on 6 November 2018 by Presidential decree under Kazakhstan's Digital Kazakhstan state programme, charged with attracting international IT talent and cultivating a startup culture across Central Asia. The technopark offers residents a special 10-year tax regime—zero corporate income tax, zero VAT, and zero social tax—alongside dedicated pre-acceleration and acceleration programmes.

Growth has been rapid and independently verified. By end-2024, 1,600 IT companies were registered as residents, including 425+ with foreign participation from over 25 countries. In 2024 alone, residents generated $1.3 billion in total revenue and $481.5 million in IT-service exports—a 52% year-on-year increase—while attracting $177 million in investments, up 40% on 2023. A total of 28,000 new tech-sector jobs were created over the park's first six years, with 12% growth in 2024 alone.

Astana Hub has scaled beyond the capital: 18 regional IT hubs operate across Kazakhstan under its management, with 450 startup ideas generated and 186 companies joining through these centres. The Silkway Accelerator has supported 62 startups from across Central Eurasia, collectively raising $28.6 million. In May 2024 the park launched Astana Hub Ventures, a $10 million VC fund targeting 20 portfolio companies and Kazakhstan's first technology unicorn by 2027.

Since inception, approximately $28.9 million in state investment has catalysed cumulative tech revenues exceeding $1.7 billion (2025) and net IT exports of $1.1 billion, exported to 111 countries. StartupBlink ranked Astana Hub the leading startup ecosystem in Central Asia and placed it in the global top 75 in 2025. The Startup Genome 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Report highlighted Kazakhstan as an emerging startup oasis, citing Astana Hub as the central driver.
