Context
Chidi, launched November 2025 by Rwanda's ICT & Innovation Ministry, Ministry of Education, Anthropic and ALX, is an AI 'Socratic mentor' built on Claude that guides civil servants and educators through data analytics, cloud computing and coding questions rather than giving direct answers; the Rwanda pilot covers up to 2,000 civil servants and educators.
Results
In the first two weeks after launch, the partners reported 1,100+ conversations and nearly 4,000 learning sessions, with about 9 in 10 users self-reporting a positive experience.
Conclusions
The pilot should be read as an early operational signal rather than evidence of learning impact.
