Context

Coding-OUT (2018-2021), an EU-funded consortium led by IPS Innovative Prison Systems (Portugal) with partners in Catalonia, Spain and Romania, taught prison inmates basic Android/iOS/JavaScript programming skills aimed at reducing recidivism by improving post-release employability.

Activities

The project developed a coding curriculum and trainer-of-trainers programme for prison educators, piloted in prisons including Baia Mare Penitentiary (Romania), alongside a blended-learning staff training track.
