DigiCoach

The ESF backed DigiCoach programme offers education and advice on digital skills to improve access to the job market and essential citizen information.
DigiCoach provides digital literacy classes to improve the social and employment position of migrants and low-income households. As part of the project, Digital Inclusion provides an IT-equipped language lab that allows beneficiaries to train using professional language learning tools such as Rosetta Stone.
Job coaching was also on offer to help beneficiaries find work. Support in finding employment is a critical service as employment allows a higher standard of living alongside societal and economic independence.
Due to their digital nature, language learning lessons could be continued at home using devices belonging to the students. The use of video calling allowed job coaching to continue. Additionally, several students received refurbished PCs.
The classes are designed for job seekers who face barriers accessing the Luxembourg job market (particularly in terms of digital literacy, language, and lack of local knowledge), but they are free and open to all.
This program complements Digital Inclusion’s efforts to equip Luxembourg residents who could not otherwise afford it with IT equipment, providing them with the basic knowledge and essential skills to make the most of the equipment they receive.
The project received 259.850 euros from the EU.

Context: In 2020 and 2021, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and the European Social Fund, Digital Inclusion will be teaching a wide selection of classes, from Computer Literacy in popular languages (Arabic, Tigrinya, and Persian) to Employability skills, as well as providing two new services: our Language Lab to support language learning (French, German, and English), and our Personal Job Coach.
The classes cover subjects designed to develop digital literacy, language skills, and an understanding of how to access the job market in Luxembourg. We know from our previous experience that these three areas of knowledge are in great demand among the people we seek to help integrate into Luxembourg society. All three are essential for both social and professional integration.
