Description
Dyscovery is a reading-support platform for children with dyslexia, built by a student team — Francisco Redondo, Margarida Nunes, Vítor Clara and André Rodrigues — incubated at JUNITEC, the Junior Enterprise of Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa). The platform combines assisted text-to-speech reading with AI-driven analysis of a child's reading and writing to identify recurring error patterns, then generates adaptive practice exercises with feedback produced in under a minute. A second experimental/testing phase reported in May–June 2026 ran across five pilot schools in Lisbon, Coimbra and Leiria with more than 100 students. The project has been recognised with a Portugal People's Choice award at the MIT €100K competition and a national win at the Hult Prize 2026 Portugal. Evidence so far consists of an active, university-affiliated pilot with real school deployment and independent press and competition recognition, but no published learning-outcome study, accuracy metric or independent evaluation exists yet — this is an early-stage pilot, not a validated or scaled deployment.
