Context

In 2024-2025, UNIDO and UNDP, funded through the UN Joint SDG Fund and working with Cabo Verde's Fogo and Brava municipal chambers, ran 'Sementes de Ideias', a six-month hybrid incubation programme for entrepreneurs on Cabo Verde's smaller islands.

Results

Forty early-stage entrepreneurs enrolled (close to half women); 27 graduated, presenting 12 finalist projects, and seven ventures received seed capital. The programme reported more than 100 concrete business-improvement actions implemented.

Conclusions

The evidence available is output-level rather than longer-term outcome data such as revenue growth or business survival, since the resulting Fogo e Brava Innovation Lab only opened in 2025.
