From Prompts to Simple Applications — Moldova's Ministry–UNICEF AI Course for School Students

The Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research, working with UNICEF Moldova, developed and launched a free course, described in official materials as taking students 'from prompts to simple applications,' aimed at middle- and high-school students and open to any interested learner.
The course introduces students to practical use of generative AI tools, from writing effective prompts through to building simple applications, and is presented by the Ministry as a foundational step in a broader national ambition -- reflected in Moldova's 2026-2030 national AI strategy -- to embed AI literacy, digital ethics and media literacy across the school system, with UNESCO recommending such content be introduced from primary school onward starting 2027.
Separately, Moldova has begun sending teachers to South Korea under the KLIC 2026 programme to build digital and AI teaching competencies, indicating the course sits within a wider set of coordinated national efforts rather than a standalone pilot.
