Context

Cuba's Ministry of Education (MINED), the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences (ICCP) and the Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos (OEI) launched a national project to build teachers' ethical and pedagogical competence with generative AI tools.

Activities

The project opened with a workshop, 'Introducción al uso ético de la Inteligencia Artificial Generativa en la práctica docente,' held in Havana on 13 December 2025. Alongside the workshop series, MINED published 'IA en el Aula,' a collaborative digital platform offering teachers curated, continuously updated resources for the ethical, critical and pedagogical use of generative AI at every education level, from primary school through university.

Conclusions

Public reporting to date describes the project's scope and stated aims but does not publish participant counts, pre/post assessments, or independent evaluation of classroom impact. Cuba's constrained internet infrastructure and device access also remain open questions for how far the platform's reach extends beyond Havana.
