IAprende con Sentido Humano y Territorial — Colombia's National Tiered AI Training for Public-School Teachers

Colombia's Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MinTIC), through its Computadores para Educar and Tecnologías para Aprender programmes, ran 'IAprende con Sentido Humano y Territorial' ('AI-Learn, with Human and Territorial Sense') for the second consecutive year, a national call training public-school teachers and school leaders in artificial intelligence.
In the 2025 edition, more than 3,000 teachers took part in AI training, and hundreds of educational institutions held their first 'Día de la Inteligencia Artificial' ('AI Day') sessions in partnership with MIT's Day of AI programme. The 2026 edition, opened in April 2026, structures training into four levels — basic, intermediate, advanced and a 'superior' AI-educator track — delivered through intensive in-person sessions for new participants and an asynchronous virtual track that also admits private-sector teachers.
The reported figures cover participation (3,000+ teachers) and reach (hundreds of institutions), not measured learning or classroom-practice outcomes: neither MinTIC's own announcements nor independent press coverage specify pass rates, assessment criteria, or whether a formal certificate or badge is awarded at each competency level, so the rigor of the 'credential' itself is not yet verifiable. The programme's main strength is its second-year continuity and its explicit two-track design for reaching both public in-person and private virtual-track teachers across Colombia's regions.
