Context

REbirth on the interNET guides unemployed people in Portugal's Autonomous Region of Madeira to use Facebook for job search, online presence and social capital building, run out of the Open University's e-learning pedagogy programme with Polos Emprego (Instituto de emprego Funchal).

Results

The project began with a pilot sample of 1,000 people and was progressively extended; the various online spaces now involve more than 50,000 people in the region.
