Technology Park Ljubljana

Technology Park Ljubljana (Tehnološki park Ljubljana) began as a pilot project in 1994 and was formally established as a company in 1995, making it one of the first institutions of Slovenia's innovation-support environment. The Municipality of Ljubljana joined its ownership structure in 2003, cementing it as a city-anchored vehicle for commercialising research from Ljubljana's universities and research institutes.

The Park now spans two locations totalling more than 75,000 m² and hosts over 300 member SME and startup companies employing approximately 1,500 people, active across ICT & communications, biotechnology, health & pharmaceuticals, environment/cleantech and new materials. Its own reporting states more than 30 new companies are established annually, combined member revenue exceeds €350 million, added value reached over €80 million (2015), and resident growth has generated 500+ new high-value jobs, alongside an estimated €15 million in VAT contributed annually.

The Park operates as a self-sustaining, not-for-profit limited company generating its own revenue rather than depending on ongoing subsidy, and has drawn €3.5 million in EU project funding across 14 EU-backed projects. It houses specialised facilities such as a virtual-reality lab (Look Around 360) and a digital-health innovation hub (DIH.Healthday.si).
