Context

ARK Educate, an education initiative founded by investor Cathie Wood (ARK Invest), has partnered with El Salvador's Ministry of Education since 2023 to prepare public-school teachers to teach robotics, artificial intelligence, drones and machine learning alongside core STEM and English content.

Objectives

The programme aims to build teacher capacity in AI and robotics pedagogy using an active, project-based learning model -- teachers introduce a concept, students build and document a project in groups, then present their solution to classmates -- starting from a defined pilot before expanding geographically.

Activities

The programme launched a pilot across 50 public schools in the department of La Libertad, in collaboration with the government's Bitcoin Office, My First Bitcoin and The Little Hodler. Training subsequently expanded into Morazán department.

Results

By 2025 the pilot reported reaching more than 2,000 students and 100 teachers in La Libertad; independent local press reported in mid-2026 that ARK Educate had trained close to 600 public-school teachers combined across La Libertad and Morazán.

Conclusions

ARK Educate is one strand of a broader national push -- El Salvador separately launched a country-wide AI platform (xAI's Grok) in public schools in January 2026 -- but no independent evaluation of student learning outcomes from the ARK Educate curriculum itself has been published; the evidence available covers teacher and student reach rather than measured academic gains.
