Kazakhstan's state-run technopark grants resident IT firms 10-year tax exemptions and simplified visas; residents grew past 1,600 companies in 2024, with tech exports reaching $633.8M and 32,000+ jobs by end of 2025.
Astana Hub is Kazakhstan's national "international technopark of IT start-ups," created by Government Resolution No. 644 and officially opened on 6 November 2018. Resident companies receive a package of state incentives — a ten-year corporate-tax exemption, simplified work-visa rules for foreign specialists, and access to acceleration, incubation and export-promotion services — designed to help IT firms grow from early-stage ventures into exporters.
The technopark's own reporting shows sustained multi-year growth: resident companies rose from roughly 1,100 to over 1,600 by the end of 2024 (500+ new joiners that year alone, including 425+ with foreign participation), while tech-sector revenue reached $1.3 billion, IT-service exports hit $481.5 million, and residents attracted $177 million in investment (all cited as double-digit year-on-year growth versus 2023). By the end of 2025, resident revenue exceeded $1.7 billion, exports reached $633.8 million to 111 countries, and cumulative jobs passed 32,000. Over its first five years the state invested roughly 15 billion tenge (~$28.9 million), against tech-industry revenues it credits at 1.5 trillion tenge (~$2.9 billion).
No independent audit of these self-reported figures was found, and none of the available sources break results down by region, company size or founder demographics — so while the topline growth and export trajectory are well documented across multiple outlets, the inclusiveness of who benefits inside Kazakhstan remains unevidenced. The model is also heavily dependent on continued state tax subsidy, a sustainability question none of the sources address directly.
