Context

Be Smart Seniors was an Erasmus+ project coordinated by Corvus Ltd. (Hungary) with partners in Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Hungary and Finland, addressing older adults' use of ICT devices and online services to stay connected, manage daily life and preserve independence.

Objectives

The project aimed to help older adults use ICT services through an intergenerational learning model, in which younger relatives are taught to teach seniors the basics of digital devices.

Activities

Outputs included a video guide for younger relatives on teaching seniors ICT basics; a dedicated web platform (built after an international survey and needs analysis) for teaching materials and community/knowledge sharing, designed around seniors' ergonomic and pedagogic needs; a video-based learning repository covering everyday IT tasks (online shopping, communication, searching); and a guide for seniors on creating a simple blog or website to share memories and hobbies.

Results

The project reported reaching an estimated 10,000 people before ending in November 2020.
