Description

Digital Überall ('Digital Everywhere') is a nationwide programme coordinated by OeAD under Austria's Digital Skills Initiative with the Federal Chancellery. Workshops are free and cover digital education for seniors, e-government, online safety, living with digitisation and, more recently, artificial intelligence.
Workshops are delivered by more than 50 adult-education providers and can be booked directly by providers or, since June 2025, by municipalities (up to three free workshops each). The municipal route proved crucial for reaching older people. About 530 local coordinators and 700+ municipalities took part. Stakeholder feedback led to follow-on 'Digital Überall PLUS' workshop series of 12 or 18 sessions (about 1,000 series, April 2025 to June 2026).
Reported results: 5,000 workshops and over 41,000 participants in every Austrian district (March 2024 to end 2025) per the EU Digital Skills and Jobs Platform; a separate report cites about 6,000 workshops and 60,000 attendances since October 2023. Participant satisfaction was 94.7%. The programme won the 'Inclusion in the digital world' category of the 2025 European Digital Skills Awards.
Caveats: figures differ between sources by counting method, no independent evaluation of skills gains or later digital use was found, and funding is public and project-based.
