AI chatbot deployed April 2024 on EBA, Turkey's national K-12 platform. First 5 weeks: >10M messages from 2.8M users across all 81 provinces; addresses >1,000 topics for students, teachers and parents. No learning outcome data published for this period.
Turkey's Ministry of National Education launched the EBA Assistant in April 2024, an AI-powered chatbot built by vendor CBOT and layered onto EBA, the country's national K-12 digital learning platform used by students, teachers and parents. It replaced a static FAQ system limited to around 100 pre-defined questions across 10 categories.
The chatbot answers natural-language queries on more than 1,000 topics spanning course content, platform navigation, account support and curriculum questions, serving students, teachers and parents across all 81 Turkish provinces via web and mobile.
In its first five weeks (April-May 2024) the assistant handled more than 10 million messages from 2.8 million users, with 85% of interactions via mobile devices; usage was highest in Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, Izmir and Diyarbakir. No learning-outcome or pedagogical-impact data has been published for this or later periods.
The EBA Assistant is now referenced in Turkey's 2025-2029 AI in Education Strategy and is designed to eventually serve up to 18 million students and over one million teachers, but the public evidence base to date is limited to engagement and usage metrics rather than measured learning effects.
