Description

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) of the Philippines launched eGovPH in January 2024 as a government super-app consolidating access to 1,300+ systems across 200+ agencies. By June 2026 the platform recorded 800 million transactions and 56 million downloads — surpassing by more than four years the 30-million-user target originally set for 2028. At its core is the AI assistant 'Juan', built on Google Gemini, which provides citizens with guidance on government services, automated document data extraction, real-time multilingual translation across Philippine languages, and visual image identification. The DICT–Google Cloud Memorandum of Understanding governs the AI partnership. DICT plans to expand Juan's capabilities through integrated AI agents across all government digital platforms, positioning eGovPH as a regional benchmark for AI-enhanced public service delivery.
