From 10-15 August 2026, Chad's national curriculum centre trained about 60 designers in N'Djamena to use AI for document summarisation, translation and evaluation-rubric drafting, with UNESCO-IBE support and a strict rule of systematic human verification.
From 10 to 15 August 2026, Chad's Centre national des curricula ran a training workshop in N'Djamena for approximately 60 curriculum managers and designers, teaching them to use AI tools for practical tasks in curriculum and textbook development: document summarisation, programme analysis, evaluation-rubric drafting, report preparation, content translation and fact-checking. Sessions were delivered twice, in French (10-12 August) and in Arabic (13-15 August), to reach designers working in both of Chad's official languages.
The workshop's central principle was 'vérification humaine systématique' — systematic human verification — requiring every AI-assisted output to be checked by a specialist before entering official curriculum documents, explicitly to prevent inaccurate or contextually inappropriate content from reaching schools.
The training was delivered with technical support from UNESCO's International Bureau of Education (IBE) and its N'Djamena office, under the Projet de Refondation de l'École Tchadienne (PRET, 2025-2029), a national curriculum and teacher-training reform financed by the Global Partnership for Education. The workshop targeted curriculum-writing capacity rather than classroom use: no AI tools were deployed to students or teachers during this activity, and no learning-outcome data exists yet.
