Context
Orange Digital Center (ODC) Burkina Faso is a training-and-incubation hub opened by Orange Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou, co-funded through Germany's GIZ 'Invest for Jobs' initiative (BMZ). It is part of Orange's wider network of Digital Centers across Africa and the Middle East.
Activities
In 2025 the centre delivered 243,000 hours of training to 4,869 people, of whom 1,255 were women, including the AWS re/Start cloud-computing pathway and certified mobile phone and tablet repair courses. It provided personalised incubation support to 15 startups and youth-led projects and hosted 10 public events. Marking five years of operation, the centre opened a new ODC club in Koudougou (Nanou region) in 2025.
Results
More than 100 graduates were placed into employment or fixed-term contracts (CDD) during 2025. Regionally, GIZ's Invest for Jobs programme reports that Orange Digital Centers across several African countries trained over 38,000 young people (40% women) between 2019 and 2023, of whom more than 4,600 (35% women) found paid work or started a business, though country-specific figures within that aggregate are not separately published.
Conclusions
The 2025 figures come from Orange's own year-end communications reported by Burkinabe press, not from an independent external evaluation, and no data on the durability of job placements has been published.
