Context

Roma in Digital ('Gitanos y Gitanas en Digital') is run by Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) as part of Spain's Generation D digital-citizenship initiative, coordinated by Red.es and the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, and funded through Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan under the EU's NextGenerationEU funds.

Objectives

Deliver free, practical digital-skills training to Roma adults across Spain, built on the EU's DigComp 2.2 digital-competence framework.

Activities

Free, in-person 8-hour courses covering everyday digital tasks such as dealing with public administration online, job searching, launching a small digital business, internet safety and digital wellbeing; courses run in numerous Spanish cities, including FSG's Vigo centre, and are open to any adult over 18.

Results

By June 2025, FSG reported delivering more than 3,800 of a targeted 12,000 training sessions, with classrooms described as consistently full.
