What works in Tajikistan

Tajikistan has launched multiple education and skills initiatives targeting vulnerable populations. Project Soro is scaling AI literacy nationwide, having reached 2,000+ students across 100 schools by its reporting date with plans to reach 2 million students by 2027. The Socio-Economic Resilience Strengthening Project trained over 10,000 disadvantaged youth aged 16-30 in digital literacy and entrepreneurship between 2020-2025, while raising female participation in project decisions from 0% to 56%. Earlier, a UN Women/IOM programme (2013-2016) addressed labour-migration impacts by training 3,000 abandoned migrant wives and securing government recognition of this group as vulnerable through Decree 448/2015—though none of these initiatives published independent learning-outcome evaluations.
